A couple of weeks ago, pumpkins went on sale at the grocery store down the road. This is pretty exciting because it’s the only time of year pumpkins are available in England. So I picked up two of them one day while I was out with Asher.
After we’d puréed one of the pumpkins, I decided that two pumpkins wasn’t going to be enough, and we needed to stock up a bit more (pregnancy craving anyone?). I asked Leon to pick up a couple more pumpkins on his way home one evening, and he did just that. Except he doubled my request. Now we have 6 pumpkins sitting in our home waiting to be cooked and puréed!
Oh, the abundance and blessing! I wasn’t expecting Leon to bring home 4 more pumpkins but it was a blessing he did. We’ll now be all set on pumpkin purée until next year. Even though Leon brought home a lot more pumpkin than I expected, I’m thankful he did.
Isn’t God like that? He doesn’t bring us pumpkins of course, but He always seems to bless us beyond our expectations. And we should express our gratitude to Him for those gifts He gives us.
Earlier this year, I set out to count 1000 gifts, the things I’m thankful for. Well, um… life kind of happened and unfortunately I stopped. However, now that it’s November and almost Thanksgiving, I’m starting my challenge again. I’d like to count my blessings every day this month. I’ve found when I do this, it helps me have a positive attitude more often. Plus, it takes 21 days to form a habit. Why not use the month of November to make a new and positive habit? Will you join me?

And if you want in on the pumpkin goodness, you are more than welcome to drop by! :)
