We’ve been doing a number of activities from a book we received from the children’s hospice after Titus died. The book contains activities to help young children process their grief. It has been a fantastic starting point for conversations with Asher and, to some extent, Eva Joy.
One of the activities we did recently talked about the different feelings we may feel — specifically when someone close to you dies. Asher and I talked about the different feelings that he felt when Titus died. We then used chocolate digestive biscuits and candy to make ‘feeling faces.’ It’s a special treat because we rarely have candy in the house!
Our emotions continue to be part of our conversations even though our feeling faces are all gone!
