No, I’m not talking about the stuff that you find in your pockets.
The season we are in leading up to Easter is Lent. I realise I’m a little late in the game for talking about Lent, but hear me out. I know that traditionally, Lent is a sorrowful season to remind us of the grief of Christ bearing our sins for us on the cross, leading to His glorious resurrection and victory over sin and death.

The question posed this year that really stuck out was: Why do so many people only celebrate Jesus’ victory over sin and death on Easter? Isn’t something we should rejoice over every day of the year? I love at Christmas being reminded that Jesus was born to die so He could save us from our sins. Not typically what you would think of… you think of a little baby in a manger, but that’s not why we celebrate Christmas! It’s because that Baby came to be the Saviour of the world.
Why should we only rejoice in the Resurrection of Jesus only on Easter Sunday when He has saved us from our sin every day?
Let’s rejoice in the life, death, and resurrection of the Saviour every day.
The greatest day in history, Death is beaten
You have rescued me
Sing it out Jesus is alive
The empty cross, the empty grave
Life eternal you have won the day
Shout it out Jesus is alive
He’s alive!
