What healed you this year? Was it sudden, or a drip-by-drip evolution? How would you like to be healed in 2011?

A good friend of mine has said that “marriage is sanctification up close and personal.” Now that I’m married, I believe that to be true.
It has been good. It is not the marriage itself, but God using our marriage to bring healing to my life. I’ve had a lot of opportunities to allow God to work in my life and change me in the past year. This past year has brought to light a lot of my insecurities and allowed me to work through them. I’ve grown and become a better person—more like Christ.
I say these things because I’ve found healing by working through my insecurities. I’ve discovered a lot more confidence than I used to think I had. Some of these insecurities I didn’t even really know about until they had been brought to light in the past few months!
Healing does take time. It’s not instantaneous, and it doesn’t come from any one worldly thing (marriage, family, work, leisure, close friend, etc). It comes through Christ. It comes through what He did on the cross by taking the blame and punishment for our sins.
“But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV)
Healing is a continuing process, and it will continue until Jesus returns for His Bride. I believe it will continue in 2011. I’m not sure what it will look like, but I’m thankful for the healing He has already brought about in my life!
