As with most years, there are a lot of things I want to remember. I’ll try to narrow it down to a few things, about one for each month of the year.
Big Ben… just before midnight of 2011! |
- Ringing in the New Year in London watching fireworks over the River Thames
- Getting our passports back with permanent residence visas in them
- Taking the Taylor University interns to Keswick on the rainiest day of the week
- My parents coming to visit Carlisle for my birthday
- The days of “summer” we had in the middle of April… the cycle rides we took
- Watching the Royal Wedding in the city centre
- Cycling half-way across England
- Visiting my friend Jenna when she travelled through London
- Our holiday in Spain
- Finding out I’m pregnant
- My little sister’s wedding
- Visiting with so many good friends while we were on home assignment
- The welcome we received when we returned to Carlisle after being gone for two months
All of these memories are brilliant, but one important thing I really need to remember is what God has done in the past year. He gets all the glory and the praise. Always. None of these things would have happened were it not for God and His sovereign ways.
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendour, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. 1 Chronicles 29:11 (NIV)
What do you hope to remember? (Today’s prompt is by Kaileen Elise)
